Hoffenheim enter the game against City following a loss to RB Leipzig on Saturday. Julian Nagelsmann’s team have had a disappointing start to the season, losing three of their first six games. Hoffenheim are 11th in the Bundesliga with only seven points in their first six games. After seeing Lyon capitalize on City mistakes, Hoffenheim will try to force City into errors and look for Andrej Kramaric and Adam Szalai to find the back of the net. The duo have combined for five goals this season.
Manchester City have got off to a strong start in the Premier League, picking up 19 points in their first seven games. City beat Brighton 2-0 over the weekend with goals from Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero. Both players have had very strong starts to the Premier League season, with Aguero scoring five goals and Sterling scoring four times. The two players will be the focus of City’s attack on Tuesday.
Much like Paris Saint-Germain, winning domestically is no longer enough for Manchester City. The club is expecting success in Europe. Over the past seven seasons, City have only got past the quarterfinals one time. A loss to Hoffenheim will put City in an early hole that will be difficult but not impossible to overcome.
