Manchester United face Valencia at Old Trafford on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Both Manchester United and Valencia have got off to disappointing starts to their domestic seasons. Despite their domestic struggles, United opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win against Young Boys. Valencia could have opened Champions League with a win but the Spanish club could not take advantage of a 10 man Juventus side that had Cristiano Ronaldo sent off.
United lost 3-1 over the weekend to West Ham, falling to 10th in the Premier League with 10 points in their first seven games. Jose Mourinho experimented with a back three but that decision backfired. Mourinho has had a tough season with United, feuding with Paul Pogba and the board of directors. The Portuguese manager appears to have lost the faith of his players after stripping Pogba of the captaincy and leaving Alexis Sanchez out of the squad against West Ham. United need Pogba to be their best player as he can solve many of the club’s problems in midfield.
Valencia picked up their first win of the season, beating Real Sociedad 1-0 over the weekend to move up to 12th in La Liga. The Bats have draws in five of their first seven La Liga games. While Valencia have played well defensively, allowing only six goals in their seven games, their attack has been awful. The Bats have scored only five goals in their first seven La Liga games. Despite having several talented attacking players, no Valencia player has scored more than once this season. Michy Batshuayi had a breakout second half of the season with Borussia Dortmund last year and will lead the attack for Valencia alongside Rodrigo in the front two.
