2. Jermaine Kearse

Quincy Enunwa has emerged as Sam Darnold’s favorite target this season, but Kearse isn’t far behind. He began the season struggling with injury, but he’s healthy now and that makes him a very intriguing add.

Ultimately, how much value you place on Kearse boils down to your faith in the Jets offense. If you believe they can emerge as a competent pass offense, then adding their second wideout makes a ton of sense. If you believe Darnold is going to hit a rookie wall, then by all means, stay away.

We don’t think Darnold is ready to turn into a star, but we do think he’s going to get a lot of chances to throw the ball as the season progresses. Enunwa will continue to get a lot of attention from opposing defenses, which means Kearse will receive single coverage underneath. He’s good enough to beat most corners when those opportunities arise.

Kearse doesn’t have the star upside of some waiver wire adds, but we really like the stability he can bring to your lineup. The number of targets he’ll receive makes him a really good add in PPR leagues. He’s worth adding to any team in need of a starting wide receiver.
