Every weekend typically involves sports of some sort, but this weekend is special.

One of the biggest overstatements in human history is thatĀ life is hard. Most of our week is spent either at work, commuting, or sleeping. Somehow we all manage to do it, as though we have a battery in our leg that keeps us chugging along. Like all batteries, we drain out and need something to help charge us back up.

For a lot of people, the plug is sports.

We don’t always have time to relax and take in a game, but knowing that escape pod is there and can be jettisoned at the first sign of real-world troubles is a comfort we often take for granted.

This weekend is the perfect opportunity to strap yourself, escape, and charge back up. Starting Friday there will be an almost nonstop barrage of high stakes sports to invest yourself in, whether that’s one of eight MLB Postseason games, Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon, or an NFL matchup that could end up deciding who controls the road to Super Bowl 53.

Our editorsĀ have hand selected the very best things for you to enjoy this weekend. There won’t be another one like it for a very long time, with so much at stake across so many different sports. It’s not hyperbole to dub this the Best Sports Weekend of the Year.

Here’s the schedule of things you’re going to want to stream into your veins and allow to wash away the stress in your life:

Friday, October 5th

ALDS Game 1: Astros vs. Indians, 2:05 p.m.

NLDS Game 3: Rockies vs. Brewers, 4:07 p.m.

Maybe you only like one or two of these events, but the point is there’s so much going on that it’s going to be impossible to not enjoy yourself. The world is a garbage place right now, and we all deserve some time to take care of ourselves. If sports are your energy, then that battery is about to get a hard recharge this weekend.
