Here are three backup quarterbacks worth stashing on your fantasy football roster for bye weeks before all of the good ones are taken.

The bye weeks are upon us and fantasy football owners are digging through the waiver wire for decent replacements. Some positions are easier to fill than others. This is even more difficult for those in deeper leagues.

The Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on bye in Week 5, so the few Mitchell Trubisky and Jameis Winston/Ryan Fitzpatrick owners may need a new quarterback.

Looking further, the Detroit Tigers and New Orleans Saints are on bye in Week 6, so no Matthew Stafford and Drew Brees. Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, Ben Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson will be out in Week 7. That is a nice group of quarterbacks that will be on the bench.

It’s important to stash your replacement quarterback a week or two ahead of time because you’ll have a couple of owners who need to fill that spot as well. Here are three quarterbacks with good schedules that could be nice bye-week fill-ins.

Joe Flacco

Flacco is the 13th-ranked fantasy quarterback after four games. He went undrafted in a majority of ESPN leagues. Flacco has multiple touchdowns in three of the four games. In that fourth game, he had one touchdown for 277 yards and no interceptions.

John Brown looks like his 2015 self. Willie Snead is also getting significant targets. The running back combination helps balance the offense.

The Ravens defense is helping keep opponents out of the end zone and preventing Flacco from having to throw the ball 50 times a game. With Cleveland, Tennessee and New Orleans coming up, Flacco should have some high-scoring games.

Blake Bortles

Bortles had one awful game this season, Week 3 against Tennessee, but has been serviceable in the other three. He racked up 388 yards and two touchdowns with an interception against the Jets.

The Jaguars don’t have a clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver but the trio of Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook and Donte Moncrief can do damage on offense. Add in the pass-catching abilities of T.J. Yeldon and Bortles has a lot of weapons to turn to.

The Jaguars take on the Chiefs, Cowboys, Texans and Eagles in their next four games. Those teams have good defensive fronts but the secondaries could be taken advantage of. Bortles should have a couple more 300-yard, 2-touchdown games.

Mitchell Trubisky

The second-year quarterback is currently on his bye week. That means, when the Bears come back in Week 6, they are playing 12 straight games. I’m not expecting another six-touchdown game but he will be successful throughout the season.

Coming out of the bye week, he and the Bears face the Dolphins, Patriots, Jets and Bills in the next four games. Those are three favorable matchups.

He can rush well, 17 for 117 yards and a touchdown, and has some good weapons around him. He is available in 80 percent of leagues.

These three quarterbacks have nice schedules going forward and could put up a lot of points. They shouldn’t be owned for the rest of the season but a one or two-week stash could help you in the long run.
