Who should you be rooting for if your team isn’t in October?

Atlanta Braves

If you’re feeling nostalgic. A good portion of you reading this might be Braves fans who are no longer Braves fans. Many of us grew up loving Andruw and Chipper Jones. We marveled at John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, and greg Maddux. We still can’t believe those teams won just one World Series despite winning the division seemingly every season. How, Sway?

Not only are the Braves the feel good story of yesteryear, they are the underdogs going into the postseason. They finished with the lowest win total of any postseason team. They were fortunate enough to be in the same division as the Marlins (in tank mode from the start of the offseason) and the Mets (the Mets) along with the self-destructing Nationals.

They have the lowest odds of any team to win the World Series. If you just can’t help yourself and you want to fully embrace the underdog bet and hold on to your childhood, chop away.

Other reasons to root for the Atlanta Braves

Because it’s impossible to blow a 28-3 lead in the World Series.

You’re all in on Ronald Acuna Jr. I’m not going to sit here and type about how I’ve followed him all season and how he’s already better than Mike Trout and Bryce Harper because how many playoff games are they going to play this season? All I know about Acuna is that he’s 20 years old and the second coming of Hank Rodriguez Jr. — The Junior in this case is for Ken Griffey Jr. If you want to sound super smart when talking to your friends, you’ll name drop Acuna a million times even though you’ve seen him play maybe twice.
