Who should you be rooting for if your team isn’t in October?

Milwaukee Brewers

Bob Uecker. Christian Yelich. That’s about it.

In all seriousness, if you’re playing with house money if you jump on the Brewers bandwagon. Forget about the Braves and them having the lowest odds at winning the World Series. Do you know how many times the Brewers have made the playoffs since they lost the 1982 World Series?

Twice.

Think about that. Two playoff appearances in 17 years. The Indians might have the longest championship drought, but at least they were in the World Series two years ago. The Brewers haven’t had a chance to be so close they can taste it.

Milwaukee fans know all about misery, but it’s the kind of misery you experience when you have to go to your in-laws for the holidays. You know it’s coming, it’s avoidable, so you just sit through it and hope nothing gets broken in the process. That’s every Brewers fan in a normal 162-game season.

This season is different because they are there. The Brewers are in the playoffs. This is like going to in-laws after you just got a big promotion at work. It doesn’t matter what they say to you. You’re on cloud nine after this promotion. No “when are you giving me grandkids?” Comment is bringing you down this year.

Other reasons to root for the Milwaukee Brewers

You’re a fan of beer. Doesn’t matter which beer. Beer is beer and the Brewers are beer. You like beer? You’re a Brewers fan.

But seriously, who isn’t rooting for Bob Ueker’s team?
