Fantasy football 2018, Week 5 rankings: Who to start and sit
By Dylan Broady
WHO TO START: JULIO JONES, ATLANTA FALCONS
Julio Jones leads the league in receiving yards with 502 total through four games. Anyone surprised? It’s also not surprising that Jones has failed to score a touchdown after what happened last year. Jones is one of the most talented players in the NFL, let alone at his position. The Falcons high-scoring offense will travel to Pittsburgh who rank 29th against the pass and 30th overall.
Jones has managed 502 receiving yards, on 29 receptions and 46 targets. His 125.5 receiving yards per game also ranks first in the league. So why hasn’t he scored? That is a very good question that we won’t be asking again after this weekend.
The Steelers allow 420.5 total yards, 304 passing yards, 115.8 rushing yards and 29 total points per game. The Steelers can’t stop a nosebleed let alone the league’s leading receiver. Play Jones and enjoy.
WHO TO SIT: BRANDIN COOKS, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Brandin Cooks is part of the hottest offense in the NFL. Why would we ever sit anyone from this offense? In Week 5 he will go up against a Seattle Seahawks defense that ranks fifth against the pass. Sure they just lost a key piece on defense, but the Seahawks will still give this high-octane offense enough to handle on Sunday.
Cooks is among a lot of playmakers and hungry mouths to feed. The Seahawks will be sure to keep him covered up all day. Cooks leads the Rams with 452 total receiving yards, but you can bet Seattle will be keeping a close eye on him all game long.
This will allow other playmakers such as Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods to get open and in the end have more productivity Sunday at one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.
