Tottenham face Barcelona at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Tottenham looked like they were going to go to Milan and take all three points from Inter in their first Champions League game. However, Inter managed an incredible comeback in the final 10 minutes to steal back all three points. Spurs return to Wembley Stadium on Wednesday to play Barcelona. The Spanish champions easily beat Dutch champions PSV 4-0 behind a Lionel Messi hat-trick.
Tottenham have won five of their first seven games to sit fourth in the Premier League. Spurs have switched seamlessly between a back three and back four successfully. Mauricio Pochettino will have an interesting tactical decision to make, going up against one of the best-attacking teams in Europe. Up front, Spurs will depend on Harry Kane. The English striker has scored five goals so far this season. The big question for Spurs and Pochettino is the availability of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli. Both players were not in the squad over the weekend as Tottenham defeated Huddersfield 2-0. If one of both of Eriksen or Alli are unable to play, that would be a major blow to Tottenham’s chances. Spurs need their creative attackers to create chances for Kane to finish inside of the box.
Barcelona started the season with four wins in their first four games but have slipped up over their last three games. Girona, Leganes and Athletic Bilbao were able to take points from Barcelona over their last three games. Munir El Haddadi had to score a late goal against Athletic Bilbao to prevent Barca from losing their second straight game. Barcelona will rely on their front three of Messi, Luiz Saurez, and Ousmane Dembele to end their early-season slump against Tottenham. The trio has combined for 11 goals in Barcelona’s first seven La Liga games.

Wednesday’s game will be the first meeting between Spurs and Barcelona since April 1982 when the two clubs played twice, drawing once and Barcelona winning the other game.
