Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers – $8,000

Christian McCaffrey has been a bright spot ever since he joined this Panthers offense. McCaffrey can run and catch the ball out of the backfield. In Week 4, McCaffrey and the Panthers enjoyed their bye week. Let’s take a look at what McCaffrey has managed through three games thus far.

Going up against a Giants defense which ranks 29th against the run, it’s somewhat of a no-brainer to pay the price for this young, talented back. Through three games, McCaffrey has managed 271 total rushing yards on 46 carries. He has added 22 receptions for 157 total receiving yards.

Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals, McCaffrey rushed 28 times for 184 yards and brought in 10 yards on his season-low two targets. The Stanford product had a career long 45-yard run in the first quarter, setting up a Cam Newton touchdown. McCaffrey averages 8.67 targets per game which is third-best among running backs.

Look for McCaffrey and the Panthers to run all over the Giants in Week 5. The Giants allow a total of 354.8 yards per game, along with 228.8 passing yards and 126 rushing yards per game, adding 23.8 total points per game. In Week 4, the Giants watched as Alvin Kamara, a similar size scat back to McCaffrey, rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns, adding 47 yards receiving.

Week 5 will be an intriguing game to watch as we all will get to see two young talented running backs try to claw their way in leading their teams to victory. The Giants come into this game 1-3 and in need of a win against a good opponent. The Panthers come in at 2-1 and will look to please their home crowd with a win.

Prediction: 150 rushing yards, 75 receiving yards, 2 total touchdowns
