Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers – $8,400

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers have had to overcome a lot of adversity this season. With the absence of star running back Le’veon Bell, the Steelers have aired the ball out each and every week. Week 5 presents the perfect matchup against the Atlanta Falcons and their 28th-ranked defense.

Roethlisberger has had success without Bell thus far, can’t really say the same for the team as a whole. The defense is a disaster, the offense doesn’t click the same without Bell and James Conner has been a viable fill in but he’s not as talented as Bell. The Steelers will have to get off to a hot start against the Falcons on Sunday to even stay in the game.

Through four weeks, Roethlisberger is the league leader in passing yards with 1,414, and also leads the league in passing yards per game with 353.5. Paying the high price tag for Roethlisberger this week will be worth it, as the Falcons have had shootouts in three out of the four games they have played thus far.

In Week 4, Roethlisberger and the Steelers struggled to get anything going against a good Baltimore Ravens’ defense. Roethlisberger went 27-of-47 for 274 yards and one touchdown, adding one interception. In Week 5, Roethlisberger will have a much better opportunity and will look to take full advantage of a weak Falcons secondary.

So far, the Falcons defense has allowed 403 total yards per game, 284 passing yards, 119 rushing yards and 30.5 total points per game. This matchup has every indication to be a wild shootout with a lot of scoring. The Steelers and Falcons offenses are ranked sixth and seventh, respectively.

Prediction: 400 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 INT
