5 bold Premier League predictions: Newcastle beat Manchester United
2. Arnautovic, West Ham continue good form to beat Brighton
West Ham have gone from the worst side in the Premier League to one of the most in-form sides in the past few weeks. They’ve also got one of the league’s most in-form players in Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic.
A few weeks ago Manuel Pellegrini’s side had a make or break game against Everton which seemed like it might be the final straw for their new manager. However, his side came through for him and now they’re showing why the Chilean manager is so highly regarded.
The Hammers are playing great soccer and they completely outclassed Manchester United last weekend. That result should come with a small asterisk, though. While it was a good performance, United are definitely in a slump and weren’t themselves at the London Stadium.
West Ham still played brilliantly and if they can take that performance into each Premier League weekend then they should be pushing for a strong top-half finish in the league. Beating Manchester United is great but winning away to the likes of Brighton is more important.
Brighton haven’t won any of their last five matches but they don’t look like they’re in danger of going down this season. They might struggle in periods but they also look like they can win matches when they need too.
This will be an interesting matchup on Friday. Even though West Ham are away from home, expect them to take all three points against the Seagulls. Arnautovic is sure to play an important role in this match as he looks to add to the four goals he has already this season.
