The college football Week 6 injury report has updates on the status of Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Stanford back Bryce Love.

College football has reached the halfway point of the season. While some teams have coasted through their seasons scot-free, others have not been as lucky. A true freshman starting quarterback isĀ clearedĀ for this week while a Big 12 defensive lineman is out for the season. Here is a look at what players may miss time in this week’s injury report.

Quarterbacks

Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

Lawrence left last week’s game against Syracuse with a concussion. Dabo Swinney said he is probable for Saturday’s game at Wake Forest. With winning the starting job and Kelly Bryant transferring out, the Tigers would like to have Lawrence available as they gun toward a spot in the playoff.

Khalil Tate, Arizona

Tate injured his ankle last week against USC. Fortunately, Kevin Sumlin says he is probable for this week as the Wildcats look to pick up a much-need conference win over Cal. Tate was a preseason Heisman candidate, who is the glue for the Wildcats offense. Having him available is a big boost.

Mason Fine, North Texas

The Mean Green is one of the more surprising teams this year, starting off 4-1. Quarterback Fine left last week’s game with a leg injury but is probable for this week. Seth Littrell did not address his injury too much, but all signs point to Fine playing this week against UTEP

Running Backs

David Montgomery, Iowa State

Montgomery is still dealing with an arm injury he suffered a few weeks ago. He is day-to-day and questionable to play this week. Montgomery carried the ball 21 times for 101 yards and scored a touchdown last week, but has been limited since the injury occurred. The Cyclones have started 1-3 and knocking off No. 25 Oklahoma State will be tough without their best player.

Bryce Love, Stanford

Love wasĀ limited this week in practice after he re-injured his ankle he hurt last season. He is questionable for Utah game according to David Shaw. With Love being limited this season, Stanford’s running attack has plummeted to 123rd in the country. If Love cannot go expect Cameron Scarlett and Trevor Speights to receive carries this week against Utah.

A.J. Dillon, Boston College

Dillon left last week’s game with ankle injury. He is questionable for this Saturday against NC State. The Eagles are first in the ACC Atlantic and having Dillon available would be a big help going up against a ranked Wolfpack team.

Mike Weber Jr., Ohio State

Weber injured his foot against TCU a few weeks back but has continued to play. He played 31 snaps last week against Penn State and Urban Meyer believes he will play this week against Indiana. With Weber and J.K. Dobbins being one of the best running back tandems in the country, having both is better than just one.

Wide Receivers

Cody White, Michigan State

White is out indefinitely after breaking his hand last week. Mark Dantonio did not give a timetable for his return but expects White to return at some point this season. He is the Spartans’ leading receiver in yards and receptions so losing him is a big hit for Michigan State’s offense.

D.K. Metcalf, Ole Miss

Matt Luke would not specify, but Metcalf is dealing with an undisclosed injury this week in practice. Fortunately, he is probable for this week against Louisiana-Monroe. However, do not be surprised if Luke rests him in preparation for the rest of the team’s SEC slate.

Brennan Eagles, Texas

Eagles has dealt with aĀ hamstring injury for the last few weeks. He was able to make the trip to Kansas State last week, but Tom Herman mentioned he is questionable for the Red River Rivalry. Eagles is one of the Longhorns’ emerging stars at receiver so having him miss this one could hurt Sam Ehlinger and this passing offense.

Tight Ends

Jeremy Patton, Arkansas

Patton suffered a leg injury last week and is out for the Alabama game. To make matters worse fellow tight end Cheyenne O’Grady has been sick with strep throat all week and likely won’t play either. At 1-4 and Chad Morris already feeling the pressure, the Razorbacks will certainly be playing short-handed against the top-ranked Tide.

Moroni Laulu-Pututau, BYU

Laulu-Pututau tore his ACL last week and is out for the season. The tight end has been one of the Cougar’s best receiving options and losing him hurts. Fortunately, BYU has experienced tight end to rely on in J.J. Nwigwe and Addison Pulsipher.

Thaddeus Moss, LSU

Moss has dealt with a leg injury that has kept him out of action for the first part of the season. Fortunately this week, he is questionable for the Florida game. While not having Moss out there is a bummer, LSU has other weapons at receiver to beat the Gators on the road.

Defensive Stars

Darrion Daniels, defensive tackle, Oklahoma State

Daniels injured his hand last game and as a result, had to have season-ending surgery. Mike Gundy said he will be medically redshirted for the rest of this season and will be eligible to play next year for the Cowboys as a redshirt senior if he chooses to stay. Gundy did hintĀ he might look to play elsewhere as a graduate transfer.

Shaquille Quarterman, linebacker, Miami

Quarterman sprained his ankle last week against North Carolina. Mark Richt said he is probable for the Florida State game. The junior is one of the Hurricanes’ leaders on defense so having his available for the biggest rivalry game of the year is huge.

Trayvon Mullen, Safety, Clemson

Mullen rolled his ankle last week in the third quarter while trying to make a tackle. Swinney sat him for the rest of the game as a precaution. He is probable for Wake Forest game so the Tigers should have their leader of the secondary available this week.
