ESPN’s College GameDay wanted some of the Red River Showdown on Saturday and Oklahoma and Texas tried to bring the heat with their GameDay signs.
Fireworks are often in order when the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns are involved. Even if one team were on track to not win a game in a season while the other was undefeated looking at a national title, you can bet that the annual matchup between the two schools would still be fiery. That’s the nature of the Red River Showdown and why College GameDay had an easy choice in Week 6.
For fans, we don’t have to worry about the rivalry fueling a great game as both Texas and Oklahoma have been quite good to start the 2018 season. The Sooners, of course, enter this matchup with an unbeaten record and indeed do have title aspirations. With the Longhorns riding a four-game winning streak since losing their opener, however, they would love nothing more than to put a blemish on the record of OU in this matchup.
When you take a top-20 matchup like this and add in the extra spiciness of a rivalry, it’s the perfect recipe for College GameDay. More specifically, it’s the perfect recipe for GameDay signs. You know that you’re going to get some that are just cutting to the core, which is what makes the best ones.
Let’s see what the Longhorns and Sooners had to offer up with the best College GameDay Signs from Oklahoma vs. Texas in Week 6:

Rivalry games are always high on animosity, to be sure. However, they are also often high on intense knowledge of the opponent and how to hit their fans where it hurts. That’s what makes the GameDay signs for a matchup between two programs like Oklahoma and Texas so enjoyable to see.
