It may have lost its luster as of late but the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles are ready to reignite the rivalry this weekend. Here are the five best moments from the storied history.

There have been 62 games between the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes. Miami leads the series 32-30 and is fresh off a victory in 2017. It was not long ago that this game had national championship implications.

Now, these are two programs going in opposite directions.

The Florida State Seminoles enter Saturday’s game with two losses through five games. The worst loss came at the hands of Syracuse who dominated FSU holding them to only three points. That comes only a few weeks after an opening weekend loss at the hand of ACC rival Virginia Tech. This is not the start of Willie Taggart’s Seminole coaching career that the fan base had hoped. Perception would change quickly with a big win over their most heated rival.

The Miami Hurricanes also lost their opening weekend game. Since that loss, they’ve played a schedule that can be described by no other term than full of cupcakes. During that stretch, they also made a change at quarterback. That switch is going to dictate this weekend’s game. Malik Rosier, now riding the bench, led a monster comeback only a year ago in this game. N’Kosi Perry will have a chance this weekend.

There are moments that will not make this list of only five items. There were epic performances on both sides, and games that affected national championship races. Kicking things off is the most recent iteration of the game from last year.
