If you read my article, How To Win the DraftKings Millionaire Maker Contest, you already know how important it is that you include at least one team stack in your NFL DFS lineup. Remember that in 2017, 13 out of 15 winning Millionaire Maker lineups included at least one stack!

So which players should you be targeting in week 5? Here are a few of my favorite NFL DFS DraftKings Top Stacks for Week 5! Be sure to follow me on Twitter @BenMcD_Sports as I’ll be sharing updates on my top stacks as we get closer to kickoff!

NFL DFS Highly Owned DraftKings Top Stacks

Ben Roethlisberger $6,900, Antonio Brown $9,100, JuJu Smith-Schuster $7,500

After struggling to put points on the board at home against a stingy Ravens defense, do you think the Steelers are excited to see Atlanta on their schedule? Over their last two games, the Falcons defense has been shredded for 337 yards and 3 touchdowns by Andy Dalton, and 396 yards and 3 touchdowns by Drew Brees. Roethlisberger should have no problem posting similar numbers in a game that has an astonishing O/U of 57 points! However, unlike the Falcons team stack option I mention below, you probably won’t be able to fit all three Steelers in your lineup. I favor JuJu in cash games whereas I love Antonio Brown in NFL DFS GPP contests. He’s going to break out sooner or later, and at home against one of the sorriest secondaries in the league seems like the perfect time. I’m predicting Brown will not only post his first 100 yard game of the year, but he’ll soar past that mark on his way to 200+ yards.

Matt Ryan $6,600, Julio Jones $8,500, Calvin Ridley $5,800

A quarter of the way through the NFL season, this Pittsburgh Steelers defense has played so poorly that I’m surprised they haven’t held open auditions to find anyone who might be able to stop opposing team’s quarterbacks. Take a look at the numbers that each QB they’ve faced this year has been able to produce.

Do you really want to bet that this is the week they turn things around? Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley both make for great options to stack with Matt Ryan, and I would even consider playing all three of them. Despite all the negativity surrounding Julio and his lack of touchdowns, the man is still on pace for over 2,000 yards. Meanwhile, Ridley is catching touchdowns at a record pace. He’s not going to keep scoring a touchdown every game, but I’d hold off on predicting a regression until they’re playing tougher opposition.

Todd Gurley $9,400 and Rams DST $3,800

Gurley is always one of the highest owned players, and with good reason. The only game this season in which he failed to surpass 147 total yards, he scored 3 touchdowns. Despite going on the road to Seattle, Los Angeles is a 7 point favorite with a healthy expected point total of around 29. Last year when the Rams went on the road to play the Seahawks, Gurley managed to finish with 21 carries, 153 yards, 3 touchdowns to go along with 3 catches, 28 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. This year’s Seahawks defense is considerably weaker, and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we see a repeat performance. If I play Gurley, I love the strategy of stacking the Rams defense with him. It’s not that I don’t think the Seahawks will score points, because I do. It’s just that if Seattle is forced to play from behind, Russell Wilson is going to take a few sacks and could make a mistake or two that leads to a high score from the Rams defense.

NFL DFS Lower Owned DraftKings Top Stacks

Aaron Rodgers $6,300, Davante Adams $7,600, Marquez Valdes-Scantling $3,300

I LOVE the Packers this week. You may be asking, “But what about all the injuries at the wide receiver position?” That makes me love them even more! The injury situations alongside more popular options from Atlanta and Pittsburgh is going to cause Green Bay to be severely overlooked on Sunday. Obviously if Adams is declared out or looks to be limited I won’t be playing him. I’ll just shift my attention to other weapons like Graham or Montgomery. Regardless of Adams status though, I love Valdes-Scantling this week. He is going to be the guy that causes a ton of NFL DFS players to say, “I almost started him!” Don’t be one of those guys.

On the surface, Detroit appears to pose a stiff test for Rodgers and company. A closer look at the numbers reveals that Detroit actually ranks 27th in the league in fantasy points allowed per pass attempt. In what is expected to be one of the higher scoring games of the week, Rodgers should once again exceed 40 attempts, setting up both he and his receivers for big games.

Derek Carr $5,200, Jordy Nelson $4,500, Jared Cook $4,800

In last week’s Top Stacks article, I touted Carr and Cook as one of my favorite lower owned options. I’m going right back to the well this week. The Raiders defense is really going to struggle to slow down an explosive Chargers offense, and Carr will once again be forced to throw to keep up. Who might he throw to? History says NOT Amari Cooper. Casey Hayward is expected to shadow Cooper for the majority of the game, and last year Cooper was only able to haul in 2 catches on 5 targets in the two games he played against Hayward.

After starting the season off slow, Nelson has really come on and scored a touchdown in each of the last two weeks. He should be a favorite of Carr in week 5. The other great option to stack alongside Carr is Jared Cook. I probably don’t need to tell you that he’s been one of the best tight ends in football this year. Regardless of whether you stack Oakland, Cook belongs in your lineup. If you need a cheap dart throw, I like Martavis Bryant this week as well.

Russell Wilson $5,100 and Doug Baldwin $5,000

Can I remind you that last season Russell Wilson was the #1 scoring QB in fantasy football? I know he’s been a letdown in 2018, but $5,100 is just too cheap. At least part of his decline can be attributed to a downgrade in weapons, but getting Baldwin back on the field should do wonders for the Seahawks passing game. What especially intrigues me for week 5, is that Wilson is going to have to air it out in order for Seattle to keep pace with the highest scoring offense in the league. We could be looking at some beautiful 4th quarter garbage points in this one. Not to mention, this two man stack will only run you $10,100 which allows you the flexibility you need if you’re targeting a a few high priced guys.
