Northwestern went into Lansing today and pulled out a huge upset over the Michigan State Spartans. Who in God’s good name saw that coming?

The Wildcats, who owned a 1-3 record coming into today’s matchup, seemingly didn’t have a prayer against the Spartans, who were looking to reclaim their spot as “the best football team in Michigan,” which includes the Detroit Lions.

No one and I mean NO ONE, believed that Northwestern could be the Spartans, especially in Lansing, which in the past few years, has become a death chamber for all opponents.

No one took Northwestern seriously, and I mean no one did, including some of their own fans. But, this is why the games are played on the field, and not on paper. The Spartans came out flat and were down 14-6 at the half. Despite trying to rally in the third quarter, it was too late.

Their embarrassing loss was sealed.

Northwestern, the team many forgot even had a Division 1 football team, had pulled off the biggest upset (so far) in Week 6 of the college football season, and you can best believe that Twitter was buzzing about Michigan State’s stunning loss.
