Tight End: Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders- $5,900

One of the biggest surprises through the first quarter of the 2018 NFL season, is how valuable Cook has been for the Oakland Raiders. He currently leads the team in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Through the first four games of the season, Cook has compiled 26 receptions for 370 yards and two touchdowns. He has had 100+ receiving yards in at least half of his games this year. Including his most recent performance against the Cleveland Browns, where he caught eight passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. He finished Week 4 as the highest scoring fantasy tight end with 27 points.

In both contests where he surpassed 100 yards he was targeted at least 12 times. Cook already has the same amount of touchdowns this year, as last year. He has been targeted in the red zone eight times, the most at the tight end position, eighth in the NFL.

To put things into perspective in terms of where he ranks amongst all tight ends this season; Cook has the most receiving yards, the most catches for 20+ yards and the second most receptions. He is averaging 14.2 yards per catch, more than Zach Ertz, Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski and Kyle Rudolph.

This week Cook and Raiders will look to earn their second victory of the season, this time against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have done a decent job against, tight ends, but struggled immensely against George Kittle. Kittle caught six passes for 125 yards and one score. It’s important to note that Kittle was able to be extremely productive with back up quarterback C. J. Beathard.

If the Chargers struggled against Kittle, they will have a tough time against Cook. It’s evident that Derek Carr is relying heavily on Cook and he will continue as long as he is producing.
