FLEX: Melvin Gordon, Los Angeles Chargers- $8,700

Defense: Tennessee Titans- $3,900

This week’s flex position is occupied by one of the best running backs in the league.

Gordon has compiled 475 total yards and five touchdowns this season. On the ground, he has totaled 276 yards, while averaging five yards per carry. His 199 receiving yards is second most in the league at the position and he leads the group with three touchdown receptions.

In last week’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Gordon rushed for over 100 yards for the first time in 2018. He also snagged seven receptions for 55 yards and one score. He currently has four rushes for 20+ yards, second most in the league.

The fourth-year back scored the third most fantasy points in Week 4. Gordon has scored 20+ fantasy points in three of four games this year.

Gordon and company take on the Oakland Raiders later today at the SubHub Center. In his last two games against the Raiders, Gordon has 276 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. Oakland has given up 478 yards the ground, third most in the league. They are one of 10 teams that have allowed opposing running backs to score over 100 fantasy points. On average, backs are scoring 25.2 per game against the Raiders.

Defensively, the Tennessee Titans are a bargain buy at $3,900. The Titans are a middle of the road overall defense. However, they have done a great job at keeping opponents out of the end zone. They are allowing 18.3 points per game, sixth best in the league. The unit has recorded at least three sacks in three consecutive games and has recovered at least one fumble in consecutive games.

This week the Titans take on the Buffalo Bills. Rookie quarterback Josh Allen has been sacked 18 times in four games, the most in the NFL. He has four interceptions, tied for fourth in the league. The Bills are one of the worst teams in the league and the Titans will take advantage of that this week.
