Valencia vs. Barcelona live stream: Watch La Liga online
Valencia welcome league leaders, Barcelona, at the Mestalla Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 7. Here is all the info you need to watch the match.
It took seven long games for Valencia to find their first win of the season, Michy Bathshuayi’s lone goal securing Los Che’s first three points of the season against Real Sociedad.
Having such a poor start to the season, manager Marcelino would have much preferred an easier run of games than what he has got. After a midweek Champions League fixture against Manchester United, Valencia host Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday. The Catalan have an imperious record against Valencia in recent years, winning 16 of their last 29 league meetings, a run of form stretching back to 2004. Their last win against Barca came towards the end of the 2015-16 season, meaning the hosts are winless in their last eight games against Barcelona and have only drawn one of those games.
Such feelings amongst the Valencia faithful and Marcelino will surely shared by the opposing manager, Ernesto Valverde. There has been much talk about the crisis at Real Madrid after a three game winless streak and four points dropped in the league. It raises the question on how their rivals must be feeling, with the Catalans dropping seven points in a week for the first time in 15 years. Unlike Madrid, those dropped points came against some beatable opponents with the loss to Leganes drawing a lot of criticism for the manager. La Blaugrana have a good record against Valencia, but when the hosts are on form, its rarely an easy affair for the Catalans.
