The Iowa Hawkeyes are going to be flying under the radar a bit. That’s okay. All Iowa has done so far this season is play solid football, win four games, and suffer a loss to the Wisconsin Badgers, who honestly appear to be a really good team. The Hawkeyes are a good team and could win several more games this year.

Iowa did a solid job of beating Minnesota on Saturday. The Hawkeyes are one of the best teams in the Big Ten right now and, if they can keep winning and Wisconsin stumbles a bit, the Hawkeyes could move up a bit in the conference standings. That said, Wisconsin’s win over Iowa will make things difficult for the Hawkeyes to win their division.

The Wisconsin Badgers quickly jumped out and claimed a solid lead over Nebraska this past weekend. The Cornhuskers couldn’t get back into the game and the Badgers were able to come away with a pretty good conference win. Now, this coming weekend, Wisconsin will have a great opportunity to prove that the BYU game the Badgers lost is truly an anomaly as they take on the Michigan Wolverines.

That actually might help Wisconsin a bit in these power rankings too given the fact that Michigan is the team right ahead of Wisconsin.

This Michigan Wolverines team is finding a way to get some notoriety after losing earlier this season. When the Wolverines played Maryland, they were able to claim their fifth consecutive win after opening the season with a rough loss to Notre Dame. In this game, Shea Patterson was efficient, completing 19 of 27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns against an interception.

The Wolverines will play Wisconsin next week and that cross-division game will go a long way into determining what happens in the Big Ten this season.
