The Cavaliers enjoyed a bye this week, but they got to move up due to Wake’s one-sided loss. Their extra rest should come in handy when they welcome Miami to Charlottesville next week. We’re not calling an upset as of yet, but it’s definitely a game the Hurricanes need to focus on.

The Panthers have suffered some ugly defeats this season, but this was a quality win for Pat Narduzzi’s team. It should help keep Pittsburgh in the thick of the ACC’s middle class.

The running game was largely responsible for the win. Both Qadree Ollison and Darrin Hall managed to go over 100 yards against the Orange defense. Whenever that happens, this team will have a good chance of winning. The lack of defense continues to be a concern for Narduzzi, but that group did just enough to get the Panthers a quality home victory.

Paul Johnson’s team might want to petition the ACC to play all of their games on Friday night. The Jackets’ triple option had everything working against a putrid Cardinals defense. Astoundingly, they had eight players rush for over 20 yards in the game.

TaQuon Marshall was the star though. He rushed for 175 yards with relative ease. He only threw for 12 yards, but he didn’t need to put the ball up. This was a dominant effort by Georgia Tech’s offense.

The Seminoles got out to a nice 20-7 lead against their in-state rivals, but it was clear Florida State started to celebrate too early. In the end, they lost a heartbreaker to Miami by a single point.

The unfortunate truth is that Willie Taggart’s team didn’t show enough maturity to win a game of this magnitude. They only managed to rush for 70 yards against a talented Miami defense. That left the game in the hands of Deondre Francois and he wasn’t efficient enough to engineer a victory. Going 15 for 30 for just 129 yards and an interception isn’t enough to get this team quality victories.
