Iowa State won’t regain their magic from the 2017 season, but they at least teased it over the weekend, with a big victory over the ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys, 48-42. This brought the former out of the Big 12 cellar and into eighth in the power rankings.

Quarterback Brock Purdy was outstanding for the Cyclones, as he launched 318 yards and four touchdowns, with 98 yards and a score going to Tarique Milton in the upset win. Purdy also added 84 yards on the ground to help his efforts.

The schedule does not give ISU any favors, though, with West Virginia set to arrive for a matchup on Saturday. Can they make this the second consecutive upset special?

Baylor has faced a handful of cupcake matchups to become 4-2, and a narrow win over Kansas State will not impact that notion. However, they remain afloat in the Big 12 and just two wins away from bowl eligibility in head coach Matt Rhule’s second season.

A potent rushing attack led the way for the Bears, as Tresten Ebner had 100 yards, two others had over 50 yards and three different players scored a touchdown, including quarterback Charle Brewer.

Week 6’s victory will take Baylor to Austin for a matchup against Texas, the No. 9 team in the nation. After Oklahoma poured on 66 points in September, will the Longhorns do something similar?
