The Flash returns with a headache not of his own making … or at least not yet … eh, you know what we mean!

Considering its place as the bright, optimistic show of the DCTV lineup, The Flash sure does give its protagonist a lot of situations where he’s feeling guilty about something. We feel pretty confident, however, that even if Barry Allen is feeling angst-ridden during the season 5 premiere, it won’t be because of something he’s done wrong.

No, as the title of the first new Flash of the fifth season suggests, it’s “Nora” who is to blame for anything amiss with the timeline on Earth-1 this time around. Barry and Iris’s daughter from the future finally revealed herself during the season 4 finale as the mystery girl who had been lurking around the periphery of the plot for months. She even helped her dad save the day, but then admitted that might have been a big mistake.

There’s little question that we’re going to learn more about Nora West-Allen and her costumed identity of XS during this week’s premiere. Can her parents help her, or will she be sticking around Central City circa 2018 whether they like it or not? And how will Barry and Iris cope with being the parents of a young woman without going through all the normal steps along the way?

These are good questions, and the official synopsis for “Nora” served up by TV Guide hints that they will be among the primary story points we’ll get to see explored on Tuesday:

"The Season 5 premiere: Barry and Iris try to return an unexpected guest from the future to her timeline."

Something else to watch out for: The Legion of Super-Heroes exists on the Arrowverse Earth of Supergirl, and in the comics, XS is a member of that team. Even though Nora is obviously not from as far in the future as the Legion traditionally is, could there be a connection there somehow?
