Chad Pennington Division

20. Joe Flacco (LW: 19)

Flacco has thrown for 1,550 yards through five games, but he’s doing so on a ton of passes. When you look deeper, the Ravens are getting a middling performance that includes 6.83 yards per attempt, good for 27th in the league. It’s not going to cut the proverbial mustard in December and so forth.

19. Derek Carr (LW: 18)

If Carr can’t stop throwing ridiculous interceptions like this one, he’s going to be looking for work come March. The Raiders have already shown they will trade great players for 10 cents on the dollar, so there’s no reason to believe that Jon Gruden won’t show Carr the door if he continues on his current pace that includes seven touchdowns and eight interceptions.

18. Alex Smith (LW: 17)

Smith looked terrified against the Saints. He was jittery in the pocket, and while his overall numbers were decent (23-of-39 for 275 yards and an interception), the actual film was far uglier. If the Redskins are going to surprise in the NFC East, Smith needs to be much better.

17. Baker Mayfield (LW: 20)

Mayfield had another 300-yard game against the Ravens, and while the Browns only scored 12 points, he did enough to earn a second win in three games (the first win technically is Tyrod Taylor’s). Cleveland is a respectable franchise again, due in large part to Mayfield’s presence.
