Heisman Watch 2018: Tua vs everyone else heading into Week 7

2018 Stats: 76 of 101, 1495 yds, 18 TD, 0 INT, 122 rush yds, 2 rush TD
Next Game: vs Missouri
Tua Tagovailoa is far and away the leading contender for the Heisman Trophy at this moment. Through the first six weeks of the season, Tua has looked like the Roy Hobbs of college football. Anything he wants to do, he just does it, and the opposition can do little to stop him.
If there is any knock against Tagovailoa so far, its simply that Alabama has yet to meet a challenging opponent. Whether that’s because Bama is just so darned good or because the level of competition is that low is still to be decided.
Last week against a completely inept and overmatched Arkansas defense, Tua threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns…
On just 10 completed passes.
Tua is barely throwing what most quarterbacks do as a warmup and carving up opposing defenses in the process. It’s safe to say, Bama will be favored for the rest of the season.

While the Crimson Tide defense certainly might be challenged by Missouri this week, it’s doubtful Tagovailoa will break much of a sweat against the Tigers. Barring a meltdown, Tua should return to the top of the list next week as well.
