The Brooklyn Nets have been in rebuild mode the last couple of seasons, but they have been showing signs of improvement along the way.
The Brooklyn Nets were in the playoffs as recently as the 2014-15 season, although that feels like ages ago. In the three seasons since then, they have gone a combined 69-177, a brutal stretch to say the least. Of course, that’s in due part to tearing down the roster and essentially building it up from scratch after that season.
The Nets made questionable trades when they mortgaged away most of their draft picks, which ended up turning into players like Jaylen Brown and Markelle Fultz a few years later. It was a rough stretch for the franchise, but things have been finally looking up for Brooklyn. They hired General Manager Sean Marks, who has steadily been finding ways to improve the roster. The Nets managed to acquire the young and talented D’Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers in a trade, and have been developing other intriguing young players such as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Caris LeVert, and Jarrett Allen.
With all of the youth the Nets featured on their roster, it’s no surprise that they played at one of the fastest paces in the NBA last season. Brooklyn is still unfortunately miles away from competing for a playoff spot again, but they finally seem to be on the right track of developing and building a competitive roster for the future. Here’s a look at the 2018-19 Nets roster, and how their depth currently stands at each position.
