NEW YORK, NY – FEBRUARY 4: Demarre Carroll

Small Forward

Starter: DeMarre Carroll

Depth: Joe Harris, Dzanan Musa, Treveon Graham

After an injury-riddled 2015 season and a bit of a year in 2016, many people wrote off DeMarre Carroll. Brooklyn saw something in him however, so they decided to acquire him from the Toronto Raptors after the 2016-17 season. Carroll rewarded them by having his best season to date, averaging 13.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2 3s a game. Most importantly, he appeared in 73 games, which hopefully means his knee injuries of the past are behind him. Carroll is one of the oldest players on the Nets, so his veteran presence is just as important as his play on the court for this young team.

Joe Harris is quietly entering his fifth season in the league after a standout career at Virginia. Harris has shown a nice touch from the beyond the arc and will continue to provide Brooklyn with another scoring option off the bench. Dzanan Musa was selected by the Nets with the 29th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. Musa is only 19 years old, but has played professionally in Croatia and showed flashes of a great offensive game.  At 6-foot-9, he has great size for a wing and could be an interesting player to monitor over the next couple of seasons for the Nets. Treveon Graham is another player who will most likely be spending time in the G-League this season. Graham spent his first two seasons in the league with the Charlotte Hornets, and showed enough promise for the Nets to give him a two-year deal this past offseason.
