MIAMI, FL – MARCH 5: Josh Jackson /

Shooting Guard

Starter: Josh Jackson

Depth: Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Troy Daniels, Davon Reed

Phoenix is brimming with talent and potential on the wing, and after adding Trevor Ariza, finally has an experienced starter who can provide value right now. Jackson and Bridges — for whom the Suns surrendered Miami’s 2021 first-round pick — project as long-term starters. Both have outstanding defensive tools and solid feel for the game. Bridges is a polished, three-year college player with soft touch from beyond the arc and the ability to guard multiple positions, while Jackson likely has more upside and offensive versatility.

Daniels, though serving mostly as a stopgap in the rotation, will be crucial to Phoenix’s floor spacing, and may be as reliable as any bench player the Suns have. Reed shot poorly last season, but defends with vigor and versatility and could be an ideal fit in lineups with Booker as the primary ball-handler.
