Fantasy Football: Impactful NFL DFS Injuries: Week 6
With extensive coverage of the National Football League and how it pertains to fantasy sports, information about Fantasy Football Injuries to skill position players is easy to come by. What’s not so easy to come by is actionable fantasy information regarding injuries to non-skill position players. We’ll be exploring some of the Fantasy Football Injuries and how they may help you gain an edge week to week.
Trumaine Johnson and Buster Skrine – DB’s – NYJ
The New York Jets secondary will be severely handicapped as they should be without both, Trumaine Johnson and Buster Skrine. Johnson sat out again on Thursday with a quad injury and Skrine sat out as well, with a concussion.
Actionable Takeaway: While they wont have to face a prolific offense, in the Indianapolis Colts, this could provide more value to the Colts pass catchers this week. Both Hilton and Doyle could miss the game this week, which would open up opportunities for pass catchers like Ryan Grant and Chester Rodgers. If that is the case, they may be able to find separation against the backup cornerbacks of the Jets.
Justin Houston – LB – KC
Justin Houston was unable to practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury and appears likely to sit this weekend against the Patriots.
Actionable Takeaway: This will be a big loss for an already struggling, Chiefs’ defense. Houston was playing well, with a PFF grade of 70.8 this season. The Chiefs rely on pass rushers like Houston to hide their issues in the secondary and this could open things up even more for Tom Brady this week.
Josh Wells – LT – JAX
Josh Wells is currently listed as week to week and sounds as if he will miss the game against the Cowboys this week. Wells was filling in for Cam Robinson, but exit week five with a groin injury.
Actionable Takeaway: This isn’t good news for the Jacksonville running game, as they’ll rely on a third string tackle, Josh Walker. In what figures to be a slow paced game, I see little to be desired from a DFS perspective in this game.
