One of the biggest games in the early stages of the first-ever UEFA Nations League will be played on Friday when Croatia face England. The game is a rematch of this summer’s World Cup semifinal, a game the Croatians won by a score of 2-1 to advance to the World Cup final.
Croatia were unsuccessful in their quest to win the World Cup, losing to France in the Final. They will bring a star-studded team into Friday’s game, with Real Madrid’s Luka Modric leading the pack. Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic, Inter’s Ivan Perisic and Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko will also feature on the squad.
As for England, many of the stars from their deep run into the World Cup are still in the squad on this international break, like Leicester’s Harry Maguire, Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and Tottenham’s Harry Kane. There are a number of new faces on the English squad to look out for as well. Promising youngsters Jadon Sancho (Dortmund), Mason Mount (on loan at Derby County from Chelsea) and James Maddison (Leicester) all received their first call ups for the senior team.
