The other eight teams open their season today, and there are some good players out there. Some of the value didn’t work out yesterday, but Kyle Hines looked really good!
Gone from the EuroLeague are Brose Bamberg, Belgrade, Unicaja, and Valencia. In are Podgorica, Darussafaka Istanbul, Gran Canaria, and Munich. That definitely changes things up a bit! Pogorica is back in for the first time since 2003. Gran Canaria is in for the first time ever!
The cash line in the EuroLeague is usually right around 150 DraftKings points. The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

Guards:
Alexey Shved continues to consistently be worth his outlandish prices. He averaged 36 DraftKings points per game last year, and picked up 69 DraftKings points in the two games against Olympiacos, so he was right around his average there too. If we can get around mid 30’s from Shved today, I think we can be pretty happy with that. He is almost in a tier by himself right now.
So the other set of five figure guards features a pair of teammates in Nemanja Nedovic and Mike James. Both are strong plays against Podgorica, but I would lean towards James if using one and not both. I also like Kostas Sloukas against Gran Canaria, a team that has never been to the EuroLeague before. Former Sun, Buck, and Laker Tyler Ennis is a strong play here too. I’m not to keen on paying up for Spanoulis against Khimki.
Jayson Granger torched Zalgiris for 62.75 DraftKings points in the two games last year, which is well above his season mark of 20.1. Granger is a strong way to drop out of the upper tier without sacrificing much in the production department. Luke Nelson didn’t get much play from the NBA, but he was the 2017 Big West player of the year at UC-Irvine. I think he will fare pretty well in the EuroLeague, but I totally understand letting this play out for a round or two before using him in DFS.
I’m kind of liking Nigel Williams-Goss at $5,800 here. Another small college star at Gonzaga, Williams-Goss with toil aside Spanoulis for Olympiacos. His price here is enough to take a flier on. Williams-Goss was a beast for Partizan in the Serbian league. We could see the same in the EuroLeague.
I like both Nemanja Gordic and Nikola Ivanovic as value plays since Milan was so bad in the backcourt last year defensively. The addition of Della Valle is going to help, but for the price, both Gordic and Ivanovic are starters. That’s hard to find in the value tier.
Arturas Milaknis and Jonas Strelnieks were favorite value plays last year, and promise to be strong bench players again this year. However, we don’t really know how much they are going to see the court with both teams at full strength to start the season, so there is lots of risk involved here.

Forwards:
Tornike Shengelia put up 65 DraftKings points in the two games against Zalgiris last season. I hate to fade Shved, but I do like the idea of stacking Shengelia and Jayson Granger today.
Arturas Gudaitis finished strong last year, and looks to be a huge part of Milan’s frontcourt this year. However, In this price range I think I would rather attack the Khimki frontcourt with either Georgios Printezis, Nikola Milutinov, or Kostas Papanikolaou.
Nikola Melli outplayed Jan Vesely at the end of last year. With his price that far under Vesely to start this season, I’m going with Melli here as well. Joffrey Lauvergne could have a big season, but I’m not sure I trust him right away.
Aaron White was a strong value play last season, and should be once again. D.J. Strawberry has a tougher matchup with Fenerbahce but I do like the value potential here with Marcus Eriksson likely out.
If Kaleb Tarczewski becomes a larger part of the offense, he is someone to watch. Tarczewski is one of the better rebounders in the league, but his lack of scoring ability caps him and leads to longer stretches on the bench.
