No. 9 Jamison Crowder vs Carolina

The Redskins also had a tough go of it recently, the loss to New Orleans wasn’t ever really close. I mean did you expect them to come out with a win on Drew Brees record setting night? Nope.

Crowder started slow but has picked it up, somewhat, against the Packers and then New Orleans post-bye week. Eight catches the past two games with 94 yards and a touchdown. He’ll fit nicely in the sleeper category this week.

Crowder has become one of Smith’s favorite targets and that bodes well against a Carolina defense that really struggled in the win over the Giants last week. Crowder isn’t Beckham but his ability to stretch the field is something Washington could use coming off a bad week. In his fourth year out of Duke, Crowder is averaging over 10 yards per catch once again.

Crowder has been a heavy target after midfield on Redskins drives this year. Eight of his 13 grabs have come after passing midfield and six (!) have been for first downs. I think this week is really important for the Redskins if they want to compete in an NFC East that looks confused top to bottom and Crowder could be Smith’s key to knocking off a Carolina team coming off an emotional win last week.
