Georgia hasn’t been able to get anything going offensively vs. LSU and it’s time to unleash their secret weapon, Justin Fields to avoid the road upset.

Georgia is on the road at one of the toughest places to play in college football as the Bulldogs trail 16-0 at halftime at LSU. The Dawgs are on the ropes and staring in the face their first loss of the season. Quarterback Jake Fromm has had a brutal first half, completing 5-of-16 passes for only 47 yards. Georgia’s offense has been stifled by the oppressive LSU secondary and the front seven that has been in his face all afternoon.

Kirby Smart needs to do something at halftime to figure out how to move the ball against this stout defense or else they’ll be headed back to Athens with a big loss tainting their perfect season.

Have we ever seen an SEC head coach go into halftime with his team trailing and needing a spark on offense so he goes to the second-string quarterback?

Of course, we have, when Nick Saban tapped Tua Tagovailoa on his left shoulder and told him he’s starting the second half over Jalen Hurts who led his team to the National Championship Game twice in his two years as the starter. Hurts wasn’t getting it done and Saban thought the offense needed a spark so he went with Tagovailoa who delivered the spark needed to win the title over Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs.

Smart should take a page out of his mentor’s book and put in his backup, true freshman Justin Fields.

Last year’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback and No. 2 overall recruit could be just what Georgia needs to find a little bit of momentum offensively. I’m not calling for Fromm to be benched for the rest of the season or his career, but I think it would behoove Smart to get Fields involved in the offense in the second half.

What else does he have to lose with his team trailing 16-0? If you lose, you might as well go down using all the players at your disposal in order to fight back.

If you wanna win, put Justin in.
