The newest version of the AP Top 25 college football rankings have been released, and there was some movement in the Week 8 poll.

If you thought the first six weeks of the college football season were wild, you were probably blown away in Week 7.

There were plenty of top-tier matchups as well as underrated matchups which led to upsets. In fact, there were four teams in the top 10 that stumbled to lesser foes.

First, it was Georgia hitting the road to take on No. 13 LSU. The Bulldogs were favored, but the Tigers made Jake Fromm’s life miserable on Saturday, beating the No. 2 team in the country in upset fashion. Washington, too, fell on the road against a top-15 team as the Huskies couldn’t pull out a win in overtime against Oregon.

Penn State wasn’t able to get the job done at home for the second straight game, blowing a late lead to Michigan State in Happy Valley. Lastly, Iowa State smacked No. 6 West Virginia at home, which wasn’t all that shocking for those who follow Matt Campbell.

This isn’t even mentioning all the ranked teams that nearly fell victim to huge upsets such as Texas against Baylor, Notre Dame vs. Pitt, Ohio State vs. Minnesota, Florida vs. Vanderbilt, UCF at Memphis and Texas A&M vs. South Carolina.

Let’s take a look at how the new AP Top 25 looks heading into Week 8:

As you can see, Auburn dropped from the rankings after losing to Tennessee and Miami also took a dip following a road loss against Virginia and Colorado after a defeat at USC.

New teams in the AP Top 25 include Iowa whose only loss this season was against Wisconsin, Michigan State which beat Penn State and Washington State which remains red-hot. Say goodbye to Colorado, Miami and Auburn.
