Losing for the first time this season, Oklahoma had to be grateful for a bye week. Lincoln Riley used Week 7 to rally the troops after losing in the Red River Showdown against rival Texas. The Sooners will have a shot to bounce back in Week 8 while Kyler Murray continues his Heisman campaign. Don’t count the Sooners out of the playoff race just yet.

Down 30-17 at halftime in Memphis, it looked like UCF’s nation-long winning streak could be in some serious trouble. The Knights couldn’t stop the Memphis offense and McKenzie Milton wasn’t his usual dominant self. That changed in the final 30 minutes as a third-and-1 run turned into a touchdown for the Knights to spark some life on the offensive side of the ball and they scored the game-winner in the fourth as Memphis ran out of time before they could kick a potential game-winning field goal. The longest winning streak in the country is now at 19 games.

In-state battles are always the toughest to judge and the same could be said for Saturday afternoon’s battle between the Longhorns and Baylor Bears. Texas will hold strong in the top 10 after avoiding a major upset in Austin, beating the Bears by six. The Longhorns may be red-hot, but they didn’t look it against the Bears at home. Tom Herman has to feel good about his run game with Keaontay Ingram breaking out, though.

Who saw this one coming? Georgia went into Saturday’s game as a slight favorite in Baton Rouge, but there was a good feeling around the Bulldogs’ fan base that they would run away with a win. Jake Fromm had his worst career game and the Tigers knocked the Bulldogs from the ranks of the unbeaten. The Bulldogs will drop this week and will be outside of the playoff conversation, looking in.

Michigan was favored heading into the Week 7 battle against No. 15 Wisconsin, but not quite as emphatically as they showed against the Badgers. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines just dominated Wisconsin on Saturday night, 38-13. The Wolverines looked like a top-10 after the win and they’ll get rival Michigan State in Week 8. If the Wolverines can run the ball as they did against Wisconsin, a win over the Spartans could be in their immediate future.
