Make sure you don’t miss what’s shaping up to be an intense trip to Talladega Superspeedway for another NASCAR playoff race.
The 1000Bulbs.Com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway isn’t a cutoff race in the NASCAR Playoffs, and that’s probably a good thing. We’re not sure the Cup Series drivers and teams could handle that amount of craziness.
The playoffs have already been wildly unpredictable, with several winners you might not have expected, including Ryan Blaney at the Charlotte ROVAL (his first victory of 2018) and Chase Elliott last week at Dover (his first ever Cup Series oval win). Talladega is always a crap shoot, which puts the drivers in danger of missing out on the Round of 8 in even more precarious situations than normal.
Take Kyle Larson, for example. The Chip Ganassi Racing star finds himself winless on the season and now desperately in need of a victory to stay alive for the championship. Yet he’s starting 34th on Sunday, and even though that’s not nearly as big an obstacle at Talladega as it is at most tracks, it might force him to take some chances he’d otherwise prefer not to take.
All this is the long way of saying this is a race you probably don’t want to miss. Keep in mind that the TV broadcast is on NBC, not NBCSN today, but we also have live stream info right here if you need it:
