FanDuel NFL 2018: Week 6 lineup
Wide Receivers: Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons- $8,500; Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams- $7,300 & Tyler Boyd, Cincinatti Bengals- $6,300
Atlanta’s season is quickly slipping away and Jones needs to have a big game to keep their season alive. Through five games, Jones has caught 34 passes for 564 yards and zero touchdowns. His yardage total is ranked third in the position group.
Matt Ryan has targeted the wide receiver 55 times, seventh most in the league, but the two have struggled to score. The last time Jones caught a touchdown pass in the regular season was Week 11 of last year. With that being said, he’s due for a big performance.
Jones has already had two games this season in which he compiled over 160 receiving yards. He has finished three games with double digit fantasy points, two of which he scored 20+ points.
This week he faces a Buccaneers team who have allowed opposing receivers to snag 66 passes for 742 yards and nine touchdowns. Their nine scores are tied for the second most in the league. On average, receivers are scoring 40.7 points per game, also second most in the league.
Tampa has given up 34.8 points per game, ranked 32nd in the league. The Falcons are averaging nearly 35 points per game at home. Expect a ton of points and Jones to finally break his streak.
The Los Angeles Rams are still undefeated, but their wide receiver depth is slowly diminishing. Both Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp left Sunday’s 33-31 victory with concussions and did not return. Head coach Sean McVay is hopeful that both will be cleared for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.
Regardless, this is a great opportunity to lean on Woods. Even with Cooks and Kupp in the lineup, Woods is still tied with the most targets (41), second most receptions (29), second most touchdown receptions (3) and third most yards (415) on the team.
Last week, Woods fell eight yards short from his third consecutive 100 yard receiving day. But, he still compiled over 100 total yards. He has finished his last three games with over 15 fantasy points, while averaging nearly 15 yards per catch. He is currently ranked 2nd in the NFL with nine receptions of 20 yards or longer.
Denver is a middle of the road pass defense. They have allowed 1,281 yards, 17th in the NFL. Opposing wide outs have combined to score a total of 147.4 fantasy points against the Broncos.
Woods will be heavily involved in the game plan and will have plenty of opportunities to make an impact, while the Broncos focus on containing Todd Gurley.
As mentioned earlier, Andy Dalton is my Week 6 quarterback and he will be paired with Boyd. The third year receiver has caught 30 passes for 393 yards and two touchdowns this season. He has had two games with over 100 receiving yards and has been targeted at least seven times in his last four games.
Boyd currently has more receptions than A.J. Green and is tied with the same amount of targets (43). He has tallied 149 yards after a catch, 10th in the position group. His matchup against the Steelers is excellent.
Pittsburgh has allowed opposing wide outs to compile 1,081 yards, 31st in the NFL. Receivers have scored a total of 190.7 fantasy points, 30th in the NFL. The Steelers are also giving up more than a first down per reception.
