Fantasy Football: Five Things To Watch For in Week 7
Adam Thielen Cementing His Spot as The Best Wide Receiver:
There is no one else as good as Adam Thielen when it comes to proving himself. The man is already off to a historic 2018 Fantasy Football season and will continue to do so in Week 7. If there is a lock in the Wide Receiver category for every week, it’s Thielen. He has six straight weeks of over a hundred receiving yards with four touchdowns. The man has only hit under 20 fantasy points once and that was Week 1. I wouldn’t expect him to stop this weekend either. The Minnesota Vikings get to face the New York Jets who rank 23rd in passing defense and I’m sure they won’t have an answer for Thielen and the Vikings. If you put all of the attention on Thielen, you’re allowing Stefon Diggs to go out there and get his which isn’t a smart thing to do. It’s a pick your poison type offense except when you think you have picked the right one, you haven’t.
2. David Njoku, Another Tight End To Go Off
Last week we targeted Austin Hooper when he went up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and boy, did he go off. Hooper put up 22 points while Jones, Sanu, and Coleman were able to find the end-zone at the same time. Now David Njoku and the Cleveland Browns get to go to Tampa and do the same thing. While the Cleveland Browns aren’t anything like the Atlanta Falcons, Bakers Baefield still has weapons if they can get the offense rolling. Njoku has had three straight games over ten fantasy points and against the San Diego Chargers, he put up 18.5 points. He gets the targets as they continue to climb since Mayfield took over, so expect another tight end to get the job done against the Buccaneers.
3. The Ingram Take Over?
Mark Ingram returned to the New Orleans Saints offense last Thursday and he showed up to play. With 16 carries, he had 53 yards with 2 touchdowns and saw 3 thrown his way for 20 yards. Now here is the surprise moment of last Thursday Nights game, Alvin Kamara only got 6 carries for 24 yards and just 4 thrown his way for 15 yards. We expected Kamara’s usage to go down a little but we saw it basically disappear. Can we expect it to happen this weekend also? No clue but we do know Sean Payton can get extremely crafty and use both running-backs to their full potentials. But we can also see Ingram’s momentum carry over this weekend and still be at high usage. The Saints do face a very tough run defense with the Baltimore Ravens so who knows if either running-back can get it going but if Ingram does have another successful weekend, it’s time to start thinking heavily on this New Orleans Saints backfield and to keep an eye on them for the rest of the season.

4. Jarvis Landry‘s Bounce Back Game
While there is excitement and hype in Cleveland, the chemistry between Jarvis Landry and Baker Mayfield has yet to be created. Landry has dropped down in the NFL rankings as one of the most targeted Wide Receivers and it has shown the past couple weeks. Only scoring 3.1 fantasy points off of 2 receptions for 10 yards, Landry has a prime spot to bounce back in Week 7. With his teammate David Njoku in the prime spot also, they get the Tampa Bay defense that is ranked last in the passing game. The positive note is that no matter what team faces the Buccaneers, it won’t be a blow out as they can keep up with most of the teams. While the defense isn’t there for them, don’t worry about if the Browns will have to fade to the run game and avoid Landry as the score could be a blow out, simple because it won’t.
5. Sam Darnold Could Possibly Be in The Best Quarterback Spot?
It’s not too often you here good things about the New York Jets as they just aren’t that entertaining to watch but they are getting the job done this season. Sam Darnold comes in at a pretty good spot this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. There was once a time, early this season, where you would fade a team for facing the Vikings but that has quickly gone away. The Vikings are giving up 267 yards through the air per game, coming in at 20th in the NFL. While Baker Mayfield is also in a prime spot against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s hard to pass up Darnold who has a reasonable price tag this weekend. With being priced at $4,900, there is a good amount of salary saved with knowing the value will be hit. Darnold has had two consecutive weeks of multiple touchdowns thrown with only two interceptions thrown since Week 3 where he threw two. The young rookie could be a prime candidate heading into the Week 7 slate.
