New England’s offense looked pretty spectacular against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, but Tom Brady thinks the Patriots can score even more.

A confident Tom Brady is a dangerous thing for every team on the New England Patriots schedule. A dissatisfied Brady might be even worse. That’s exactly the way the Hall of Fame quarterback is feeling at the moment.

Despite the fact that his offense lit up the Kansas City Chiefs for 43 points on Sunday night, Brady isn’t content. Instead, he’s still waiting for his unit to play a full game of top-notch football. He insists the Patriots offense needs to “keep grinding and practicing” so they can dominate for a full four quarters.

You’ll have to forgive NFL defenses for not wanting to see a complete game from the New England offense. This is a unit that has scored 38, 38 and 43 points over the past three weeks. It’s not as if Brady and company have been struggling to score points. The idea that there’s more to come from this offense will keep opposing defensive coordinators up at night.

Much of Brady’s optimism is likely due to the continued improvement of Josh Gordon. The enigmatic wide receiver has only been with the team for a few weeks, but he’s already impressed Brady and the rest of his teammates with his talent and commitment to his craft. The more comfortable he gets with the playbook, the more options Brady is going to have down the field. With all due respect to the other receivers on the roster, Gordon is by far the most dynamic downfield threat the Patriots have to offer.

Of course, Rob Gronkowski is a pretty talented downfield threat too. He exploded against the Chiefs in the fourth quarter. His brutal stiff arm of Ron Parker delighted the New England fan base. If he can stay healthy down the stretch, he should continue to put up big numbers for this offense.

The unfortunate truth for the rest of the NFL is that the only things that can stop Brady are Father Time and a ferocious pass rush. At the moment, the prolific quarterback continues to play like a man in the prime of his career. Additionally, his offensive line continues to keep him upright against any group they encounter. Brady may actually be correct. The best of this season’s Patriots offense may still be ahead of them.
