Week 6: Monday Night Football DraftKings Advice
By Chris Brent
Welcome back readers of FantasyCPR! We are back after a frustrating defeat in Week 6, but we are going to bounce back today. Mistakes were made, but I’ve have had great success with showdown slates and this one should be no different. Monday Night Football will be a battle at Lambeau Field between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. This game is projected to get ugly as the Packers are 15-point favorites in this 46.5 over/under game.
Week 6: Monday Night Football DraftKings Advice
News & Notes:
- George Kittle (knee) was limited in practice all week but is on track to play Monday Night.
- Geronimo Allison (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night, listed as true game-time decision.
- Matt Breida (shoulder/ankle) was a limited in practice on Saturday, I think Brieda is going to miss this game.
- Pierre Garcon (Shoulder/Knee) missed practice Thursday, Friday and then was limited on Saturday. However, I think Garcon is going to play.
- Randall Cobb (hamstring) is listed as questionable. I don’t have a good feeling on this, my guess is out but not sure.
Let’s dive into it:
Who is our captain:
Cash Games:
Aaron Rodgers, GB ($18,300)
This is the easiest play on the slate, in cash I’m just going to take the safety with Aaron Rodgers in cash games. The only issue with Rodgers is his price tag. However, I think there is definitely going to be value on this slate and we need to capitalize on it. The 49ers secondary has struggled allowing multiple touchdown passes in four of their first five games. The Niners have allowed the 8th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. This spot is an easy 300-plus yard game with multiple touchdowns for Aaron Rodgers is the easiest play on the slate for me.
Tournament:
Aaron Jones, GB ($10,800)
This play is way to easy to make as a leverage play in this game. The Packers are home, and our 14-point favorite v. the 49ers tonight. I am playing Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams in my captain spot in a few lineups tonight to pivot away from the Packers passing game chalk. If Cobb and Allison are both out, I can see the Packers getting up and killing the clock. This is a must win game for the Packers and they’re not going to get creative, they’re just going to line up and beat up on the 49ers tonight. The Packers will take the hot-hand between the two and roll with them for a big game. If you can guess which of this backs is going to go off, I think you got a really good chance of taking down a tournament tonight. For me it’s Aaron Jones though!
Monday Night Football Cash v. Tournament Plays
Cash Games:
Davante Adams, GB ($11,600)
Adams is an absolute lock in cash games and in tournaments. This is a slam dunk play, Adams is going to have a huge game, especially if both Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison misses this game. Adams is easily going to get 7 catches for close to 100-yards and a touchdown. Play Adams in every format, and let others make the mistake of fading him. The 49ers secondary has struggled this year averaging giving up 300-plus receiving yards in four of their first five games.
C.J. Beathard, SF ($8,800)
In cash, I’m taking the points and playing C.J. Beathard. Beathard hasn’t been bad, and we know how this game script is going to go. The 49ers are going to be passing and Beathard is going to be able to complete passes in this offense. Beathard is honestly way too cheap against this Packers secondary in a game that San Francisco is going to be trailing. Beathard has started in two games and is averaging 45.5 pass attempts per game. Beathard will likely turn it over, but we can expect him to make up for it.
Tournaments
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, GB ($6,200)
If Cobb is out, Valdes-Scantling is in play once again. Rodgers is likely going to throw for 300-plus yards in this game and Adams isn’t going to catch every pass. Valdes-Scantling is really talented, and he is really fast. The 6’4 206-pound ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at the combine and with Rodgers behind centerValdes- Scantling will achieve value easily if Cobb and Allison are out.
Raheem Mostert, SF ($1,000)
Mostert will save you all the salary tonight in tournaments. If Matt Breida is out tonight, the 49ers are down to Alfred Morris and Raheem Mostert in the backfield. I like Mostert’s talent, think he can do whatever the 49ers ask of him. Mostert has yet to show it at the NFL level, however, Mostert can catch passes out of the backfield he just hasn’t had the playing time to showcase it. If Breida is out, Mostert is going to slide into that role with Alfred Morris being incapable of catching passes. I like Mostert tonight if Breida is out.
Best of luck to the readers tonight! Take down a tournament!
