4. Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was expected to return in some capacity against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6, but he was inactive and Murray stepped in and had 24 carries for 155 yards with a touchdown in the game.

Cook’s status for Week 7 against the New York Jets is unclear, but coming off last year’s torn ACL he has been dealing with this hamstring issue since Week 2. So suffice to say it’ll be hard for his fantasy owners to rely on him right now, and Murray is averaging 5.6 yards per carry over the last two games.

If Cook is out again, Murray would get the lead back role and a tougher matchup against the Jets this week. Even if Cook is available, he seems sure to be on a snap count along the lines he was expected to be on in Week 6.

Murray is almost a must-add as a handcuff to Cook in deeper leagues. His standalone fantasy value could fade back into virtual oblivion very quickly, off the high point in Week 6, but with Cook’s unpredictable status going forward Murray is a solid add in most leagues.
