Here’s how you can watch The Rookie series premiere “Pilot” episode live online or the old-fashioned way right on your television.

The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion (Castle) premieres its pilot episode on ABC tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Fillion is also an executive producer on the Alexi Hawley created series. The two previously worked together on Castle with Fillion playing Richard Castle and Hawley writing/producing the series. You can catch The Rookie’s debut online with ABC’s official live stream.

Joining Fillion as John Nolan (the oldest rookie cop in the L.A. Police Department) are cast members Afton Williamson as Talia Bishop, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, Eric Winter as Tim Bradford, Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Mercedes Mason as Zoe Andersen, Titus Makin as Jackson West, Richard T. Jones as Nolan nemesis Wade Grey, and Danny Nucci as Sanford Motta.

Fear the Walking Dead fans will recognize Mercedes Mason, who played Ofelia Salazar, through 22 episodes of the series, going back to season 1. The Rookie’s premise follows John Nolan, a 40-year old cop pursuing his dream of becoming a police office for the Los Angeles Police Department. Attempting to prove to himself that age is but a number even in a very physical field.

"After a life-altering incident, John Nolan decides to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer; as the force’s oldest rookie, John is met with skepticism from some higher-ups."

“Everyone deserves a second chance!” Nathan Fillion is shown prior the preview trailer of tonight’s pilot episode of The Rookie discussing the concept behind the commonly spoken, yet sometimes rarely practiced sentence. The trailer introduces viewers to John Nolan who moved to LA “six months ago to be come a cop.” Will his dream become his destiny? Or will age act as a deterrent either physically, or likely the biases of others on The Rookie?  Viewers will see what the premise holds in tonight’s series premiere!
