2019 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers find successor for Philip Rivers
By Brad Weiss

10. . Linebacker. Alabama. Mack Wilson. 12. player
The Houston Texans were able to beat a pretty bad Buffalo Bills team on Sunday, as they won their second game in as many weeks. Quarterback Deshaun Watson continues to battle back from a torn up knee last season, and he has looked better each week, and look like the player he was early in his rookie season before long.
When it comes to this Houston roster, they need help at the linebacker position, and that is where they should spend their first round pick. If they continue to win, they should find themselves in position for a playoff spot, so they may not be picking this early, but if they are, Mack Wilson makes a lot of sense at No. 12.
Wilson is the kind of linebacker you can build a unit around, as he has the athleticism, and strength to play sideline to sideline. The Texans already have some elite pass rushers in Jadeveon Clowney and JJ Watt, so adding a player like Mack Wilson to the middle of the defense would make the linebacker corps a real strength.
Of course, the future of this organization hinges on whether or not Watson can get back to the player we saw early in his rookie season. However, if the defense can add a player of Wilson’s caliber, they can lead the team to victories, and in an open AFC South, the Texans have the talent to be a contender for years to come.
