The Philadelphia Eagles went into Metlife Stadium on a mission this past Thursday night, as they were taking on division rival New York. In a game that was touted as a solid matchup, the Eagles absolutely dominated from start to finish, as they look to get in position to repeat as NFC East champs.
When it comes to the Eagles, they may be in the middle of a bit of a Super Bowl hangover, but they appear to be headed in the right direction now. Carson Wentz looked to be back to playing at an MVP level, and now that he appears healed from his torn ACL last season, the sky is the limit for this franchise.
Another player who tore up their knee last season was left tackle Jason Peters, who, like Wentz, is back to playing this season. However, unlike Wentz, Peters is at the end of his NFL career, and the organization should look to bring in the player who can replace him when he hangs up his cleats in the coming years.
That player could be Yodny Cajuste from West Virginia, who is a first round talent, and could stay on the left side at the next level. Peters may have a year or two left, which gives Cajuste time to get used to the NFL, and will give the Eagles a seamless transition at the most important position along the offensive line.
