2019 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers find successor for Philip Rivers
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts went into Metlife Stadium on Sunday with an opportunity to get their season turned around. However, they showed the world that they have absolutely no answer on the defensive side of the ball, as they were beaten soundly by the Jets and their rookie quarterback, Sam Darnold.
The defense has been an issue for the team all season long, and despite getting a healthy Andrew Luck back, the Colts find themselves sitting at 1-5 through the first six games of the season. It is definitely going to be a long season in Indy, though they should find themselves picking pretty early in round one next April.
With that pick, the Colts should look to get better along the defensive line, especially on the edges, where they could bring in a guy like Nick Bosa from Ohio State. Bosa is dealing with an injury currently, and may not return this season for the Buckeyes, but that should do little to affect his draft status next year.
In Bosa, the Colts would have their best edge rushers since Dwight Freeney, and give them a young leader on the defense. Bosa has the pedigree to be a star at the next level, and for the Colts, they need talent on that side of the ball, as they currently are looking up at every team in the AFC South division.
