2019 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers find successor for Philip Rivers
By Brad Weiss

Cornerback. Penn State. Amani Oruwariye. 29. player. 47.
The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs battled it out in a huge Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 6, and it was everything you could have hoped for as a football fan. The Patriots got out to a solid half time lead, and looked to have put the Patrick Mahomes bus on the side of the road for at least a week.
However, Mahomes came right back firing in the second half, leading the Chiefs back into the game, and it took a field goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Pats the 43-40 victory. It was incredible play by two franchise who should be the last standing in the AFC this season, and hopefully give us a rematch in the AFC Championship Game in January.
The Patriots have a lot of holes on the defensive side of the ball, and while quarterback Tom Brady is always going to keep you in games, he cannot always pull 43 points out of his hat. They need to get better in the secondary, and that means selecting a guy like Amani Oruwariye from Penn State in the first round of the NFL Draft next April.
Jason McCourty is getting too old to play so much at the NFL level, and the entire cornerback group has some serious depth issues. Oruwariye would be a nice addition to the group, and would like slide in as a starter alongside Stephon Gilmore next season if the Patriots decide to go with him this late in round one.
