The Green Bay Packers defense looked very beatable against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, and that was without Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback. With Jimmy G out, the 49ers had to roll with CJ Beathard under center, and he nearly led San Francisco to an improbable victory on the road at Lambeau Field.
The Packers defense is all kinds of messed up, and with two first round picks next April, the team may want to add to the unit with both selections. They definitely need help at defensive tackle, so they could go that route with their first pick, but they should look to get better on the edges with pick No. 2.
Zach Allen from Boston College is one of the best in the country at getting after the quarterback, and he would be a nice fit on this Packers defense. The Packers play in a very competitive division, and one that has some solid quarterbacks, so getting after them has to be a priority if you want to come out on top.
Green Bayās defense is getting old, so it makes sense that they would inject some youth with two first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. Allen is a special player when it comes to getting to the quarterback, and on this Packers defense, that is a area where they could stand to improve in 2019 and beyond.
