2019 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers find successor for Philip Rivers
By Brad Weiss
Two weeks ago, the Buffalo Bills surprised the Tennessee Titans, as they earned their second win of the season against a team that went to the playoffs last season. This past weekend, the Bills came back down to earth, and not only did they lose to the Houston Texans, but they may have lost their quarterback for the near future.
Last April, the Bills took Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen with their first round pick, and he has played decently for the team in spurts. However, he injured his UCL in his right elbow this past weekend, and it looks like the Bills will be moving back to the Nathan Peterman Show for this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
One area where this team has done a nice job this season is on the defensive side of the ball, as outside of the first two weeks of the season, they have allowed only 20 points once. Still, their defense needs an injection of talent on the edge, and a guy like Montez Sweat from Mississippi State would give them the player they need to replace the likes of Shaq Lawson.
Sweat is one of the best players in this draft class at getting the edge, and would be a solid pass rusher for this team from day one. The Bills were a playoff team last season, and have shown they have talent in spurts this season, but are a year or two away from being a perennial contender for a playoff spot.
