College Football picks against the spread October 18-19, 2018
The games only start on Thursday night in college football this week, making it pretty much a normal week. Our four games before Saturday don’t feature any ranked teams, but we will have one Pac 12 game. Is that where the money is made?

I haven’t completely finished with last weekend’s games yet, so my picks from last week haven’t all been tallied. That article will be up soon, but first, the picks for the four games before our college football Saturday!
For those of you that are new to this, I pick every college football game every week. Not a top five. Not a top ten. All of them. Big deal, right? Lots of people make picks. Well, I do them all against the spread! I take the odds of each game and average them out at all the Vegas casinos and round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.
I also assign a point value based on the confidence I have in each pick. 1 means that I have little to no confidence. 5 is one I would place a decent wager on. I keep track of my record and my points from week to week and year to year. I am aiming for 55% this year. It’s harder than it looks!
This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for the loss of money, possessions, spouses, or limbs because of my picks. I can’t have that on my conscious.
Without further delay, here are the early picks for week 8!
Georgia State at Arkansas State(-14.5)(1): Arkansas State is such a tough team to read. They are 1-5 against the spread this year. Georgia State is 2-3-1. The Panthers are equally as frustrating. They smashed the Warhawks a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t been closer than 17 points against any other FBS school. I’ll go Arkansas State at home, but given the preference, I wouldn’t touch this.
Stanford(-2.5) at Arizona State(2): I understand. Any team with Herm Edwards coaching it is dangerous. That said, I don’t trust Manny Wilkins to hit on all the passes that he would need to to win this game. I’ll take Stanford.
Colorado State at Boise State(-23.5)(2): Wow, that’s a lot of points. Boise started out on fire, outscoring Troy and UConn 118-27 in the first two games. In the four games since, they have scored just 99 points. Opponents have scored 104. The ugly game against Nevada is probably clouding my judgment, but I think Boise wins but doesn’t cover.
Air Force(-10.5) at UNLV(3): I don’t like the half, and UNLV can be tough at home. I still think Air Force covers with Hammond under center. You could argue that they would have beaten San Diego State were Hammond able to finish the game. I’ll take Air Force.
